How to approach TFT monetization cases
Every case here is one move in a single decision chain: understand the business → decompose into a data problem → choose the metric or method → name the bias and trade-off → land on a decision and an action. A strong answer walks that chain and survives the follow-ups; a weak one stops at the first plausible story.
Three things make TFT monetization cases distinctive:
- Revenue is
Payers × ARPPU, and spend is heavy-tailed. Decompose before theorizing, and never trust a blended ARPU — a handful of whales move it. Separate widening payers from deepening them. - Fairness is a hard constraint, not a metric to trade. TFT is cosmetics-only by design; anything touching competitive integrity is off the table, and the engagement/retention guardrail protects long-term revenue.
- Watch for pulled-forward and cannibalized revenue, and for changes you can't randomize. Events and price moves shift spend around in time and can't be cleanly A/B-tested, so you reason from holdouts and quasi-experiments — always asking: is this incremental?
This role (AXE monetization analytics) gets probed across all four case shapes — diagnose, measure success, launch-or-not, and measuring impact without a clean experiment — so the five below span all four.
Each answer is staged in three parts: a structured overview, an in-depth investigation with the numbers and charts you'd actually pull, and a verbal pitch showing how you'd say it in the room.
